Apple Hill takes on online fundraising

Apple Hill has signed on to an innovative fundraising program. It’s called Amazon Smile and enables Amazon shoppers to designate Apple Hill as the nonprofit organization to receive ½ percent of every purchase they make. To enroll, see smile.amazon.com.

“It’s an easy way to help Apple Hill fulfill its mission of 44 years to create, perform and teach chamber music at the highest standards, broaden the appreciation of chamber music through the development of educational programs, and cultivate connection and understanding among people of diverse backgrounds and cultures through the Playing for Peace program,” says Leonard Matczynski, Apple Hill artistic and executive director.

“One-third of our summer students need financial support, so we are constantly looking for new ways to raise the funds to enable them to come to our campus to study.”

He adds, “We recently launched a successful online Indiegogo fundraising effort to pay for the production of our first CD featuring the Apple Hill String Quartet.... Online fundraising has become an important tool for us.”
