Thank you to all at senior dinner
To the editor:
On Dec. 10, the Friends of the Seniors held its 21st annual senior Christmas dinner at the Monadnock Country Club in Peterborough. We had 120 seniors join us for fun and Christmas dinner.
Several individuals helped by either donating goods or their time to make this dinner a success, and I would like to thank the following: Robert Duhaime, Connie Cerroni, Luciel Wilson, Michelle Carter, Rick Boudreau, Dennis Hattie, Jose Teixeira, Faye Sargent, and the members of the ConVal Interact Club.
I personally would like to say thank you to MaryLee Leedham and Bev Monkton, who were the other two key organizers for the event. Without them, this event would not have been a success.
Several businesses and organizations also helped us to keep this tradition going and a success. I would like to thank Roy’s Market, Nonie’s, Shaws, Kiwanis Club of Peterborough, Peterborough Sunshine Fund, Peterborough Food Pantry, Peterborough Lions Club, All Saints’ Parish, Peterborough Police Association, and Peterborough Fire and Rescue Association for their generous donations.
A special thanks to Elizabeth Fortin and the members of the South Meadow School Chorus, who provided entertainment to all the seniors. Also a special thank you to Chris Selmer at the Monadnock Adult Care Center who took the reservations for this event.
Again I want to thank the Monadnock Country Club for the use of their fine facility and to the Manchester Union Leader and the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript for their continued coverage of our dinner.
For the past 21 years, this entire dinner has been paid for through generous donations from community businesses and individuals with no cost to the seniors. A good time was had by all, and I will see you all on Dec. 9, 2014.
