Leave sports to sports the fans
To the editor:
Is a NFL team name more important than fixing the economy? Our Senator, Jeanne Shaheen, made national news for sending a letter to a NFL team requesting it change its name. An Associated Press-GfK poll conducted from April 11 to the 15th found that only 11 percent of people think the Washington Redskins should change its name.
Here is a poll that will never happen: What percent of people would rather have Senator Shaheen focus on NFL team names than on fixing the economy and reducing the national debt? Washington politicians should focus on the important issue of governing our nation and leave sports to sports fans.
