Thanks to all for cupcake event
To the editor:
The Night of 1,000 Cupcakes in Jaffrey, sponsored by the Jaffrey Civic Center on July 17, a perfect summer evening, was a rousing success. Nearly 3,500 cupcakes were admired, chosen, and consumed by a crowd of more than 1,500 eager eaters. The Cupcake Committee and the Directors and Incorporators of the Civic Center would like to thank our many creative bakers, without whom this event could not take place.
We appreciate our legions of volunteers who tirelessly set up, clean up, and assist with every task in between.
We also thank our generous sponsors: The Jaffrey-Rindge Rotarians, Belletete’s, Red’s of Jaffrey, Kimball’s Farm, Microspec, Hutter Construction, Monadnock Tent Rental, King Arthur Flour, Manhattan East, Hannaford, Shaw’s, Life is Sweet, Alpine Motors, West Rindge Builders, Harvey Sawyer and Silver Ranch Airpark, Francis X. Quinlan, Don and Dorrie Upton, Bill and Martha Raymond, Sarah and Jim Noel. The award ribbons have been handmade for all nine years by Jean Boutwell. Five Jaffrey residents of the Monadnock Quilters Guild created a beautiful Cupcake Quilt, and Deb Pero donated an adorable oil painting, both for raffling. The gorgeous flower arrangements that surround the tent were designed by Coll’s Garden Center and the ingenious Eleanor McQueen. Henry Moreau provided perfect sound for the spectacular emcee, Tony Haigh. Ever-popular facepainting was hosted by Cathy Maki and her artistic volunteers. We thank you one and all.
