Scholarship offered through the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce

Applications and donations are now being accepted for the Marty Taylor Scholarship. This scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior at Conant High School with plans to continue their education at a trade or technical school.

Applications are available at the school’s guidance office and must be completed and returned by April 30.

Marty Taylor was known throughout the Monadnock area for repairing and restoring motorcycles and respected for his work ethic. At age 40, he attended the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Florida, earning the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Technician certification. Marty passed away in September 2006 from injuries received from a motorcycle accident.

The Taylor family takes great pride in awarding this scholarship particularly since it will assist a person choosing a profession of working with their hands as did Marty.

Since 2012, we have partnered with the Jaffrey Betterment Corporation. The JBC, a tax-exempt 501(c)(3), was established by the Jaffrey Chamber of Commerce to support charitable and educational activities. Tax-deductible donations to the Marty Taylor Scholarship can be mailed to the Jaffrey Betterment Corporation, P.O. Box 2, Jaffrey 03452.

The Jaffrey Chamber will host their annual Motorcycle Poker Run this summer on Sunday, July 14th. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.
