Old Street Road needs major repair
To the editor:
I would like to know how the town of Peterborough can justify the paving of Carley Road when Old Street Road is in such deplorable condition. Old Street Road has been a disaster for many years. This road is the main route to Monadnock Community hospital for residents of Temple, New Ipswich, Greenville and Sharon.
Fifteen years ago I had to be transported to the hospital by ambulance. Only a very small section of the road has seen improvement since. A patient in an ambulance is subject to bumps and potholes on approximately 50 percent of Old Street Road. The time has come for Peterborough to pave roads that are in dire need of repair. I would like to read a response from the highway department in a future newspaper. A response advising the many users of Old Street Road when it will be paved properly.
