Crash into pole closes 202

PETERBOROUGH — Route 202 near New Hampshire Ball Bearings was closed briefly Monday night, after a car went off the road and knocked down a utility pole.

According to Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard, Melissa Frechette, 25, of Pelham, Mass., may have fallen asleep at the wheel shortly after 7 p.m. Her 2003 Hyundai drifted off the road and crashed into the pole. Frechette was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital for treatment of injuries and her car was towed. Hospital officials said Wednesday that Frechette was treated and released.

The road was closed for a short time while PSNH crews repaired the pole.
