Harris Center names new trustees

Emily Hartshorne, teaching principal at the Wells Memorial School in Harrisville, has been elected vice chair of the board of trustees of the Harris Center for Conservation Education in Hancock. Additionally, the organization welcomed two new trustees to its board, Sue Copley of Peterborough, and Carol Thompson of Jaffrey.

Hartshorne has been on the Harris Center Board for four years and is currently the chair of its Education Committee. Copley is the recently retired principal of Peterborough Elementary School and heads a nonprofit educational organization. Thompson recently served as the president of the Monadnock Conservancy, an area land trust that engages in the preservation of land throughout the Monadnock region.

Chair of the Harris Center board of trustees Ted Leach said, “This is an organizational trifecta for our organization, to have this caliber of talent all at once. These are three multi-talented women who will complement our board and mission.”
