Brush fire burns across three acres

Middle Hancock Road property suffers no damage to homes or structures

Peterborough firefighters were working to extinguish a brush fire off Middle Hancock Road at about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Peterborough Fire Chief Joe Lenox said crews were dealing with a fire involving about two acres of land. The fire was on the west side of the road, a bit north of 36 Middle Road. The area was well off the road and no smoke or flames were visible from the roadway.

Firefighters from several neighboring towns were dispatched to the area of 36 Middle Hancock Road for a first-alarm brush fire, according to Southwestern New Hampshire District Fire Mutual Aid tweets.
