Fly fishing program benefits breast cancer survivors
This month’s Monadnock Chapter of Trout Unlimited talk is “To Fish is to Hope, the Story of Casting for Recovery.”
Sheila Reid, the Vermont/New Hampshire Casting for Recovery Program coordinator, will talk about the free fly fishing retreats offered to women at any stage of recovery from breast cancer. The Casting For Recovery group is dedicated to helping breast cancer survivors learn fly fishing and to help them recover both physically and mentally. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers.
The program will take place at the Keene Public Library on May 16 at 6:30 p.m.
The Monadnock Chapter of Trout Unlimited covers the region from Wilton to Keene, Francestown, Hillsborough, and Greenville to Jaffrey and Hinsdale. Its purpose is to promote cold water conservation and to get a new generation of young people introduced to fishing and habitat protection.
