5K event is for rec. scholarship
To the editor:
The Well School is hosting a 5K charity fundraising event on June 1 at 9 a.m.
All net proceeds from this event will be donated to The Peterborough Recreation Department Scholarship Fund. This fund is used specifically to offer opportunities to youth throughout the area to participate in athletic programs that could not otherwise afford to do so.
We would like to send out a huge thank you to all local businesses who have donated to the event, including Eastern Mountain Sports in Peterborough, which has generously donated several items for the runners swag bags including: North Face Water Bottles, Chapstick, Face Sunscreen Stic, Keychains and stickers. All runners who register by May 18 will get a free T-shirt and the first 50 registered runners for the 5K will get a free pair of Darn Tough Socks.
Top male and female finishers will receive a male/female specific North Face Backpack packed with North Face camping products and other goodies.
We would also like to thank the Cheshire YMCA and Camp Takodah for their generous donation of one free registration for their women’s weekend getaway; Sean King Rentals of Westmoreland which has generously donated a 40’ x 40’ tent for the Health and Wellness Expo; The Frank Massin Agency, Inc. for donating funds to support the event; the Henniker Septic Service for generously donating clean portable toilets,; Black River Produce for donating post-race snacks; Tad Bonvie who has generously agreed donate his time, equipment and materials and DJ the event; Residential Resources for partnering with the Well School and ensuring that every child in our community has the opportunity to be active; and Ted’s Shoe & Sport for donating two pairs of shoes and five $20 gift certificates as prizes.
