New Ipswich: Bank robbery suspect arrested in Leominster
NEW IPSWICH — The suspect in Friday's robbery of the TD Bank North in New Ipswich was arrested Sunday morning by Massachusetts State Police. In a press release issued Friday evening, New Ipswich Lt. Sean Cavanaugh stated Eric Lord — who was recently released from N.H. State Prison — was identified via security camera pictures as the suspect in Friday's robbery. Lord allegedly told tellers he had a gun and requested money, escaping with an undisclosed amount. Massachusetts State Police were able to locate Lord at a Leominster, Mass. residence and arrested him without incident at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, according to a press release. Lord is being held without bail as he awaits extradition to New Hampshire.
About the incident, Cavanaugh wrote, “...at approximately 1350 hours the New Ipswich Police Department was dispatched to the TD Bank at 564 Turnpike Rd. in New Ipswich for a multiple panic alarms. When officers arrived on the scene they were advised that a white male went out the door and ran to the left in a westerly direction. The bank teller stated that she was contacted by a white male who walked up to her window and passed her a handwritten note. The note stated he had a gun and requested money; no gun was shown.”
