Gun safety class offered April 16 in Rindge

A free, two-hour gun safety class and demonstration will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Rindge Recreation Department on Wellington Rd.

The class will offer instruction in the proper handling and storage of firearms and is cosponsored by the Rindge Police Department and Rindge Crime Watch. Gun locks will be handed out free of charge.

Attendees are asked not to bring any firearms or ammunition, as none will be permitted in the building except those brought for demonstration by certified instructors.

The civilian instructor Don Huntington of Rindge is certified as a Hunter Safety Instructor through N.H. Fish & Game. Fish & Game Officer William Boudreau will be present for the training, and can answer any questions regarding laws.

Tye Taylor of American Weapon Systems of Rindge is a licensed firearms dealer and he will answer questions about the laws involved with purchases and background check requirements of gun dealers before they can sell.
