Peer review trumps magazine

To the editor:

A peer-reviewed article in the Journal of Palaeogeography, Palaeoclimatology, Palaeoecology (Volume 369, 1 January 2013, Pages 482–492) showed that the climate today in South America is colder than during the Medieval Climate Optimum about 1,000 years ago.

Another recent paper in Quaternary Science Reviews which studied the advances and retreats of four glaciers in Norway came to the same conclusion for the northern hemisphere.

My observation is that popular publications such as The Science News are more interested in being politically correct than they are in presenting real science.

If Steve Hoadley would spend more time on the ClimateDepot website he would find periodic references and up to date information as to what is really going on in the world of climate change as opposed to what some people would like us to believe.
