Concert greatly aids Grapevine
To the editor:
On behalf of The Grapevine board of directors and the families and communities we serve, thank you to the many good and great people and businesses who poured their hearts and talents and countless hours into organizing and presenting Chris’ Concert at Granite Gorge on July 20.
It was an amazing show, top-notch artists in a festival atmosphere complete with a variety of delicious foods and drink — Fiddlehead’s Café, Little Zoe’s Pizza, burgers and dogs, and a raw bar! — free jumps into a giant air bag, and a fabulous silent auction, topped off by a fireworks display. And what a gorgeous scene at sunset with Dwight and Nicole on stage.
This wonderful event was created to honor the memory of Christine Patten, and the organizers together with Christine’s parents chose The Grapevine Family & Community Resource Center as the beneficiary of the concert. Chris’ Concert donated the $4,650 in proceeds to The Grapevine, a critical contribution as this community organization works to recoup a $40,000 loss from the elimination of The Grapevine’s state funding two years ago. We are so grateful to all of you:
“Chris’ Crew,” the concert organizers: Doug Aborn, Cheryl Barlow, Steve Barlow, Tom Griggs, Sue Durling, Dale Ormon, Rick Fitzgerald, Emily Hague, Tom Durling, Sammy Barlow, Denise Barlow, Russell Novotny, Rose Novotny, Noelle Durling, Deb Pepin Blair, Denise Hartwell, Catherine Durling, Ashleigh Krenzien, and Abby Durling.
And the event sponsors: Granite Gorge, Monadnock Paper Mills, The Mountain, Keene Supercuts, The Keene Sentinel, Long Trail, Keene Music Festival & Munsonville Audio, Perry, Weigand and Gurwell, Perez & Sons, Monadnock Tent Rental, Jakes 5 Star Convenience, Savron Graphics, Oliver’s & Plank’s Tavern, 92.5 The River, Valley Automotive, The Blues Audience, Monadnock Disposal, Pitcher Mountain Painting, and Shaker Style Handcrafted Furniture.
And of course, we are grateful to Christine’s parents, Marcia and Roland Patten, who chose to honor their daughter’s work helping children and families by supporting the work of The Grapevine.
