The dilemma we are facing
To the editor:
As we find ourselves caught/trapped again and again in the games of the politicians, we find “thank you” appropriate for the richest people in the United States filtering their funds to the poor.
I am angry at the dysfunction and suffocation that is controlled by a select few — Congress — and a broken system. When is it time to fix the problems instead of quarrelling about their egoist ‘Party’ and start to work for all the people.
I found grace in the poem by Thich Nhat Hanh, titled “For Warmth” which reminds me to move with a right mind and action: “I hold my face between my hands/no I am not crying, I hold my face between my hands/to keep my loneliness warm/two hands protecting/two hands nourishing/two hands to prevent/my soul from leaving me/in anger.”
