ConVal boys lose at home
The ConVal boys hockey team lost two home games last week. On Wednesday, the Cougars hosted Kearsarge, losing 5-2. Erik Leger scored both of ConVal’s goals, one on a power play and the other assisted by Jason Haley. Sean Stinehour kept ConVal in the game with 33 saves before surrendering two late goals to Kearsarge’s Elliot Tucker and Will Aufranc.
On Saturday, ConVal hosted Belmont-Gilford, losing 7-1 in what head coach Mark Leger called “by far the best game we’ve played.”
“The score did not reflect the game,” Leger said. The Cougars surrendered four goals in the first period before settling down and scoring one of their own. Campbell French found the net on assist by Erik Leger to close the gap to 5-1, but Belmont scored twice in the final minute to extend the lead for good. Stinehour made 30 saves in the game. ConVal’s next game is at Souhegan on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
