WLC still leads D-IV race
The Wilton-Lyndeborough softball team scored at least 17 runs for the fourth game in a row on Friday, defeating Epping 17-6.
Junior Sami Bosquet fueled a 10-run third inning with a grand slam, as the WLC third baseman accounted for six runs batted in.
Andrea Heck was 3-for-4 and Sophie LeVert had two hits and two RBIs.
Freshman Sarah Holka allowed no hits and struck out four in 2 1/3 innings of relief.
On Wednesday, WLC got two home runs from senior Deanna Davidson and another from sophomore Jenna Bragdon in a 19-7 win over Sunapee.
Davidson finished with six RBIs total after her two-run and three-run home runs. Bragdon also had six runs batted in after going 3-for-5 day at the plate, including her three-run second inning home run.
Davidson allowed three earned runs and four hits with six strikeouts over seven innings.
WLC hosts Derryfield today and Hinsdale on Wednesday to close out the regular season. Entering play this week, which included a home contest with Portsmouth Christian on Monday, WLC led Division IV.
