Andy’s Summer Playhouse invites you to its fifth annual benefit auction on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Keller’s Yellow Barn, 605 Isaac Frye Highway, Wilton.

This special event features appetizers, a cash bar, sports and theater tickets, local art, jewelry, experiences for families and couples, getaways, raffle items and gift cards. The auction is the kick-off event for Andy’s Summer Playhouse’s 50th Season. All proceeds from the auction will go towards funding the upcoming 50th season, during which many artists from Andy’s vibrant history will return to work with the children and the community to launch the playhouse into its next 50 years.

Andy’s Alum, Jared Mezzocchi, is beginning his fifth season as Producing Artistic Director and is feeling more hopeful than ever about Andy’s future.

“Andy’s is finding its momentum at the perfect time. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary feels so incredibly cathartic as we welcome more new families and professional theater artists than ever. As artistic director, I am profoundly moved as I watch each and every child develop their intrinsic sense of self while working alongside incredible artists from all over the country. I hope you will join us on this fantastic occasion to be a part of our ever-growing family and theatrical revolution and raise funds as we embark on one of our most exciting seasons yet!”

The silent auction runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. and will feature performances by the cast of last summer’s original musical, “The Resisters: A Football Musical”, with music written by Andy’s alum and singer-songwriter, Duncan Pelletier. The live auction begins at 7:30 p.m., featuring Andy’s Kids as the auctioneers. The young auctioneers will be led by local great, Steve Desmarais. The auction will also feature popular tunes from the last 50 years with Andy’s Kid and Souhegan senior Siraj Husainy as DJ.

Tickets are $25 for adults. Youth 18 and under get in for free. Tickets may be purchased online at www.andyssummerplayhouse.org or  via phone at (603) 654-2613.

The auction first began in 2015 when one of the children involved in shows at Andy’s recommended that such an event exist. Now, it has become one of the fixtures of the Andy’s season and the playhouse’s largest annual fundraiser, and the perfect event to celebrate the brilliance of Andy’s children and the talents and experiences that make this community home.
